Creatures of Passage Longlisted for the Women's Prize 2022

Morowa Yejidé's Creatures of Passage has been longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2022!

The prestigious Prize shines a spotlight on outstanding, ambitious, original fiction written in English by women from anywhere in the world. Chair of judges and author Mary Ann Sieghart said: "Choosing just 16 novels from 175 submissions was a marathon task. After a lively and passionate discussion, my fellow judges were delighted to find that our 16 favourite novels were incredibly diverse, written by women of all ages from all over the world, covering different genres, and from publishers large and small."

Morowa's deeply captivating novel shows us an unseen Washington, D.C., filled with otherworldly landscapes, flawed super-humans, and reluctant ghosts, and brings together a community intent on saving one young boy in order to reclaim themselves.

Award-winning journalist and editor Lorraine Candy said of Creatures of Passage: "I found this a really magical, unexpected plot. It was an addictive book to read and I kept wanting to go back and enter that world again and again."

Creatures of Passage is now our second title to be longlisted for the Women's Prize after Bernice L. McFadden's Praise Song for the Butterflies was longlisted in 2019.

You can get your copy of Creatures of Passage directly from our website here or in your local bookshop. A paperback edition will be published on July 21st, which you can pre-order here.
