The novel is an atmospheric depiction of culture, love and unforeseen loss. A young Pakistani photographer embarks on a journey home with his American-born lover. The couple employ the trip as an attempt to exorcise their pasts, in order to build their shared future together. Up in the glaciers of Northern Pakistan, a tragedy at a mountain lake entwines the fate of the two lovers with the people they encounter there. Thinner Than Skin expresses the tumultuous yet passionate complexities that can unravel within relationships. Khan has written an immersive read that explores a different side to Pakistan.
